Spending six years in this great citadel of learning served as a foundation for my academic excellence. I am delighted to say that it all started as a result of the unrelenting efforts and use of diverse teaching strategies developed by the entire school staff which helped me create a positive and right attitude to learning. In those days, the school would organize trips/excursions to different parts of the country and put together cultural and talents programmes for students, in this way I was able to familiarize myself with real life experiences embellished with fun both in and outside the classroom.
These experiences I would say induced my appetite to demand for more learning, and then curiosity got the better of me, probably that is why I am a Lecturer/Researcher today.
The Chief Learning Officer, Chief Kaoli Olusanya is a remarkable father. He is a facilitator of success, a counselor, a role model, and a mentor. During my years in Kith and Kin International College, he was tolerant, honest, and compassionate and at the same time firm, fair and assertive. I was known as the CLO daughter and I was proud to be called that.
His influence on my academic prowess cannot be overemphasized. There is one major thing about the CLO, he celebrates every win no matter how small it may be. The reward system he created for every academic distinction was so encouraging for me and for every other student. He nurtured us to be not just the best but to be trailblazers in all sectors of the world.
He inspired qualities in me that helped in achieving stable mental and moral mindset in dealing with issues I came across all through my undergrad and MSc. levels. I still carry this mindset as I study for my PhD. Having been awarded by the CLO for Good Character and Discipline, I made sure these were my core values and life compass in all facets of life.
