Ikeja Electric Hosts "Storytime Magic" at Kith & Kin Montessori School in Celebration of Children’s Day 2025

As part of activities marking the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, Kith & Kin Montessori School had the honour of hosting the #GiveBackAlways team from Ikeja Electric Plc for a special book reading event titled "Storytime Magic" on Monday, 26th May 2025. The programme, held at the school’s Excellence Hall, was a truly delightful and enriching experience for our pupils and the entire school community.

The event brought together pupils from Kith & Kin Nursery and Primary School (KKNPS) — specifically Basic 5 and 6, and Kith & Kin Montessori School (KKMS) — Grades 1 through 6, for an engaging session that celebrated the power of stories and the joy of learning. Two pupils, one from KKNPS and one from KKMS, were specially selected to join the Ikeja Electric team on stage to co-read with them — a moment that sparked excitement and pride among their peers.

The #GiveBackAlways team, led by the gracious Mrs Olufadeke Omo-Omorodion, captivated the young audience with lively storytelling and thoughtful interaction. It was a session filled with laughter, learning, and inspiration.

To crown it all, the team generously distributed a variety of gift items to the pupils and donated a wonderful selection of storybooks to our school library — a gift that will keep giving for years to come. In addition, they donated "Power Play" board games — an engaging, educational game designed to teach children about electrical safety in a fun and interactive way. These will no doubt be enjoyed by the pupils while reinforcing vital lessons.

This initiative not only promoted literacy but also strengthened the culture of reading and community engagement among our children. It was a memorable experience that reinforced the values of empathy, curiosity, and the joy of sharing knowledge.
