IKODASS and Kith & Kin Educational Schools to Showcase Ikorodu’s Rich Cultural Heritage with Live Stage Performance of ‘Owanbe’
4-7-2025
On July 16th, 2025, a historic cultural milestone will be achieved in the Ikorodu community as the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), in collaboration with Kith & Kin Educational Schools, a leading private educational institution, presents a Live Stage Drama Performance of Owan’be — a vibrant showcase of the rich socio-cultural heritage of the Ikorodu people.
The play Owan’be, written by Dayo David, emerged as the winning entry in the 2022 IKODASS Literary Competition, and has since gained acclaim for its compelling narrative and cultural relevance.
According to Kolawole Fatai, Chairman of IKODASS, this strategic partnership reflects the association’s commitment to its A-R-I-S-E Agenda, particularly the "E" which represents Education.
“The upcoming live stage performance of Owan’be aligns directly with our goal of advancing education in Ikorodu through literary and artistic expression,” Fatai noted. “It is a continuation of the legacy set by my predecessor, Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, who introduced the literary competition during his tenure. We believe that government and leadership are continuous, and we are proud to build on that foundation by bringing this inspiring story to life on stage.”
This event not only reinforces IKODASS’s dedication to educational and cultural development but also serves as a beacon of youth engagement and talent promotion in the community.
All roads lead to Ikorodu on July 16th for an unforgettable cultural experience!
